Vision Volleyball Club is committed to bringing our families men and women who are not only are highly educated as coaches, but have a heart for teaching and recognize that we do not coach Volleyball, we coach kids! We refer to our coaches as "team members" because that is a core part of our philosophy. Vision coaches operate as a team in all that we do. Encouragement, education, sharing of ideas and support of one another is key to our success as a club. Vision has the most highly educated coaching staff in the area with multiple coaches that are USAV CAP II Certified, USAV CAP I Certified , as well as two coaches with International volleyball certifications.

Stephanie Wyatt is the founder and director of Vision Volleyball Club. In 2010 she started Vision with the hope of giving all girls an affordable opportunity to play club volleyball. By the second season, Vision was and remains, the largest Juniors club in the area. She has been coaching girls at every level since 2006. She held positions as Athletic Director and Head Varsity Coach at a local school for 8 years, leading her team to 5 Conference and State Championships in the Florida Christian Athletic League and and NACA National Championship in 2008. Once moving into the FHSAA, her team had two conference championships and appearances in the Elite 8. Coach Wyatt began
coaching club in 2008 and in 2009 led her 12u to the Junior Olympics where they placed 7th. She is currently the Director of Volleyball Operations at The Rock School. First and foremost she is mother to 7 incredible kids and married to Michael for 27 years. Coach Wyatt is USAV IMPACT Certified and has completed CAP I training.
Assistant Club Director, Director of College Prep Team Program
Nick Cheronis serves Vision as Assistant Club Director and Coaching Director. He is also the Head Coach of our College Prep Team. Coach Cheronis brings 32 years of coaching experience to the club. He has coached the game at every level, most prominently as the Assistant Coach at the University of Florida for 18 years. During that time, the Lady Gators won 17 Southeastern Conference Championships, had 7 Final Four and 10 Elite Eight appearances and finished runner-up for the National Championship in 2003. In addition to Florida, he has coached at Missouri State University (1989-1991) (1982-1983) and Parkland Junior College(1984-1985)
He is currently the Head Coach at Santa Fe College and of the Florida Wave (Premier Volleyball League). He also serves as an Assistant Coach for the USA Girls Youth National Team.
Director of Player Development, Vision Volleyball Club
Israel Delgado joins Vision Volleyball this year, as Director of Player Development. He comes to us from Puerto Rico, having spent the past 22 years building a name for himself in the volleyball world. He has coached successfully at every level from elementary to college. For the past 15 years he coached and oversaw player development at Club Borinquen Coqui in San Juan. He has coached beginners to college level players, competing at the highest levels.
His role at Vision will be extensive. His responsibilities will include the hands-on training of players at every level, establishing training standards for all teams, working with coaches and athletes at practices and expanding the opportunities for training at Vision. Complete BIO
Assistant Director of Communications
Kris Gibson is a founding member of the Vision team. She began coaching girls volleyball in 2005. She was the Head Coach of numerous school teams at both the middle and high school level while working at Cornerstone Academy (2005-2012). At Vision she has coached teams at every level and brings her passion for the kids and the game to every team. She also has a financial management company as a licensed Broker and Registered Investment Adviser as well as Tax Preparer. She is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she met her husband, Mike. Kris is USAV Cap II Certified.
Assistant Varsity Coach, Buchholz High School
Wickie has been working many years coaching both girls and boys in several sports. Among them, girls softball at Buchholz High School and Volleyball at both the club and high school level. He and his wife have two high school aged daughters whose interest in the Volleyball as young girls prompted him to learn the game. His passion and enthusiasm for sports and the kids he coaches is contagious! Wickie is in his third season as an Assistant Coach for the Varsity Volleyball Team at Buchholz High School. This will be his fifth year with Vision Volleyball Club. Wickie is USAV IMPACT Certified.
Head Coach, Lincoln Middle School
Mallory Becker has been a longer time player of indoor and beach volleyball. She has coached both girls volleyball and softball over the years. When not playing/coaching volleyball, she is the Assistant Principal at Lincoln Middle School and an Adjunct Professor at UF. She is a graduate of the University of Florida and California State University. She has been married for 14 years to Gary, and they have two children. Mallory is passionate about working with kids in all aspects of her life and is dedicated to ensuring that each girl have a successful volleyball experience filled with positive teamwork. This is her second year with Vision. Mallory is USAV IMPACT Certified.

Varisty Head Coach, Williston High School
Anthony has been coaching in the Gainesville area for the past 15 years. He is currently the Varsity Head Coach at Williston High School. He also coached the University of Florida Women’s Club team for 4 years and is a training camp coach for the USA Volleyball High Performance All Star Team Florida. This is his sixth year coaching with Vision. Anthony is USAV CAP I Certified.
Assistant Coach, Santa Fe College
Nickie has extensive experience both as a player and a coach. She was a scholarship athlete at Elon University in North Carolina. During her time there she was named "Top Newcomer" and as a setter, led her team to become to 2011 SoCon North Division Champions. She has been a Head Coach at both the school and club level, working with middle and high school students and coaching for Suncoast Volleyball Club. She was also an assistant on the St. Louis High Performance team in 2014. She is currently an Assistant Coach, Santa Fe College. This is her first year with Vision.

JACQUELINE ROBINSON HUGGINS, Head Coach, Buchholz High School Varsity and Former University of Florida Player
Jacque is high level athlete who has played and coached volleyball at every level. She grew up playing in her home state of California and in 2000 began playing for Coach Mary Wise at the University of Florida. While playing at UF, her team went undefeated in the SEC and earned the SEC Championship four years in a row. She was named the Most Valuable Player, in the 2002 SEC tournament and in 2003, they made it to the National Championship match. Following he playing career, she moved into coaching. In 2007-2008, Jacque was the Head Coach for Okeechobee High School and took her team to the Regional Semis. That year she was also named Conference Coach of the Year. Jacque then became the Head Coach at Father Lopez Catholic High School from 2009-2011. They reached District Semis several times & in 2010 participated Regional Quarter Finals. She is currently the Head Coach at Buchholz High School. This will be her first year with Vision.
Assistant Coach, Santa Fe College / Former Player and All-American at the University of Florida
Benavia Jenkins, former All-American middle blocker for the University of Florida, joins Vision this year to work with the College Prep Team players. Jenkins recently finished her seven year professional playing career in Switzerland this May with Koniz Volleyball Club. In addition to playing in Switzerland, she has had professional playing stops in Spain, Turkey and Austria. She also competed with the Premier Volleyball League’s Florida Wave from 2012-2014, helping the team finish second in 2013 and 2014. As a Gator, Jenkins was part of a program from 2000-2003 that won four Southeastern Conference championships, made four NCAA tournament appearances, went to two NCAA Final Fours, and one NCAA national championship appearance. In that span, the Gators were 126-12 including 60-0 in SEC play. She was named Co-Captain in 2001 and 2003 and All-American in 2002 and 2003. Jenkins served as Head Coach at Lincoln Park Academy High School from 2010-2012, and founded A-Vaneb Volleyball Academy in Fort Pierce, Florida. She believes teaching the game is only part of her responsibility and enjoys mentoring players by helping to "instill core values and life skill sets that they will be able to use the rest of their lives”. This is her first year with Vision
Former Player and an All-American at the University of Florida
Nina is a former player and an All-American at the University of Florida. While playing at UF, she was a first-team AVCA All-America selection and the Most Valuable Player of the NCAA Central Regional her senior season. She was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Year, making her just the second player in league history to receive both Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year honors in her career. After leaving UF, Nina traveled to Brazil and Germany to participate in the professional volleyball leagues. Following her playing career, Nina transitioned into career in nursing. As a UF neurosurgery nurse, Nina specializes in Adult Brain Tumor Immunotherapy and clinical research. This is her first year with Vision.
University of Florida Assistant Coach
Chad is currently an Assistant Coach for the University of Florida Women's Volleyball team,, working under the direction of Head Coach Mary Wise. Before coming to Gainesville to coach, he spent fours years in North Carolina playing NCAA Volleyball at Lees McRae College. During his collegiate career he was able to surpass the 1,000 kill mark, become the all time kill leader, and win AVCA National Player of the Week in his senior year. Following college, Mercado went immediately to play in Puerto Rico for “Cariduros de Fajardo”, winning the regular season title as well as the Championship. He then moved to California coaching with California Baptist University in the Men’s Volleyball program. The program reached its highest ever ranking at 5th in the nation in the AVCA D1-D2 Poll. While in California, Mercado also coached female athletes at Mavericks Volleyball Club in Corona. There he worked with teams ranging in age from the 12-1s - 18-1s. This past year was spent in Holland playing in the A1 professional league. Mercado brings to Vision extensive knowledge and experience along with the same energetic coaching style he displays on the sidelines at the University of Florida. This is his first year with Vision.
University of Florida Player
Nikki signed to play for the University of Florida Volleyball team in 2012. In high school, she was named an AAU All-American and grew up playing in Clearwater. She was a skilled Outside Hitter and Clearwater High School went undefeated in conference play behind O’Rourke her senior season. She came up with 22 kills in Clearwater’s regional semifinal victory to put the Tornadoes in the 7A region final. She serves as a Defensive Specialist for the Gators and is a key player in the back row. This is her first year with Vision.
Taylor, a student at Santa Fe College, is a skilled player and a true student of the game. While still in high school, she began coaching summer youth volleyball camps at Oak Hall School. This past year, she was the Head Coach of the middle school team at Oak Hall, as well as a Varsity assistant under veteran coach Cari Martin. She was a setter and right side hitter for her high school, Cornerstone Academy, and vital part of both of their teams that made it all the way to the Super Regional Final. She was also a player with Vision for 4 years. She possesses a high level understanding of the sport she grew up with, as well an affinity for working and teaching kids. This is her second year coaching at Vision. Taylor is USAV IMPACT certified.
Dena Perry has been coaching volleyball for 14 years. As the 2013 Varsity Head Coach at Newberry High School and was named a Coach of the Year in 2013 by the Gainesville Sun and lead her team to the state finals. Past experience includes one year as an assistant at PK Yonge, and three seasons as the Assistant Varsity Coach at Gainesville High School. She has coached competitive travel teams on every level from 11-18. Under her guidance, Dena's teams have won multiple Florida regional championships and countless other tournaments. She grew up playing here in Gainesville, playing varsity volleyball for 3 years at Buchholz high school. During that time she won awards for best serve percentage, outstanding hustle, and most versatile player. Dena is a proud mother of 2 boys, and enjoys her job as an elementary school media specialist during the day. This is her fourth year with Vision. Dena is USAV IMPACT certified.
Former Player at Stetson University
Melissa has been involved with volleyball since she was ten years old. She played in Franklin, TN for Centennial High School and Impact Volleyball Club. After high school, Melissa went on to play for Division I Stetson University under athletic and academic scholarships. She has been running camps, clinics, and private lessons since college. Melissa also coached several seasons at Florida Elite Volleyball Club in Daytona Beach. Melissa is an Attorney who works at a local law firm, specializing in personal injury cases. In addition to coaching volleyball and practicing law, Melissa loves spending time with her husband, Leif, and son, Elijah. This will be her second year with Vision. Melissa is USAV IMPACT certified.
Head Coach, Buchholz High School JVAssistant Coach, Buchholz High School Varsity
Enrique grew up playing volleyball at the Orlando Volleyball Academy. An accomplished player, he played for four years on the elite, Orlando Gold men's team and was a member of the USAV High Performance teams for 2 years . He started his coaching career 3 years ago, first as a Varsity Assistant Coach at Bronson High School and two years ago joined the Buchholz High School staff as the Head Coach of the JV team and as a Varsity Assistant. At Buchholz, he led his JV team to a 24-1 record and won the Florida JV tournament. He also works summer volleyball camps at the University of Florida. Enrique is currently a senior at the University of Florida in the school of music, plays club volleyball at UF and is a member of University of Florida Marching Band. This is his third year with Vision. Enrique is USAV IMPACT certified.
